Ukulele

Is your child thinking about playing guitar? Violin? Ukulele is a great stepping stone, and a great instrument in its very own right. In a fun, relaxed setting, we include core music activities such as rhythmic movement, singing, percussion, and pre-literacy, along with team turn-taking games. Kids will learn rhythmic strumming plus, if they are able, picking patterns; and three to five chords to accompany songs. They can even learn to play a simple melody! The group will discover important vocabulary for contrasting musical qualities and the major scale. Caring gently for a musical instrument and building relaxed practice habits are foundations for a lifelong love of learning and music-making. Class is delightful and the learning is infectious!

Our Ukelele curriculum, developed by Steve Epstein, is not a Music Together® offering, and is offered by the  Music and Movement Center.

All children are required to have their own soprano ukulele, you can purchase through Music Together for $36.00 or purchase your own. If you are interested in purchasing through us, please bring a check to the first class made out to Music Together of Fairfield County.
